 |

|
| Brief |
- To makeover the
existing Retail Automotive
Alliance (RAA) website (view
old site).
- To encourage RAA
members to return to the
site.
- To promote approved
suppliers and RAA
members' websites.
- To
create a lot cleaner,
fresher site.
- To
incorporate the branding of
the RAA's new logo.
|
| Solution |
| I developed
a new website and password
protected members-only extranet
in collaboration with the
Advertising Account Manager
of Lifestyle Europe Limited.
I added a Chairman's Blog
(online journal) to the extranet and
in partnership with our
programmer (Ellen Dhawan)
added a RSS feed
that tells the RAA members
when the Chairman has
written a new message.
Ellen also helped create a careers
section so that the members
can save money on
advertising by posting jobs
on the main website.
I designed the extranet
so that it is easy to add
useful information. The
members can quickly share
documents, meeting details
and automotive surveys
between each other. |

| Brief |
- To make the website
faster (there was
a problem with the
navigation, which was
causing web pages to load
too slowly).
- To update the
website with new
content.
- To provide reporting
on visitor behaviour.
|
| Solution |
| I was
restricted by the existing
template design but were
able to create new
(non-flash) navigation to
improve access to website
content and make the site
easier for visitors to use.
I also added a site map.
I worked over a number of
months with department heads
updating the content. I added
descriptive links to the
content to make it easier
for visitors to
navigate between the pages.
I added Google Analytics tracking
to the content to discover
more about visitor behaviour.
I send monthly reporting to
senior management to
help them to identify the
most popular pages, repeat
visitors, the keywords
visitors use to find the
site etc. Enhancing the site
with new web pages and
content (as requested by
senior management) to
satisfy visitors' needs. |

| "The Online Specialists have
improved our website from its
original incarnation. We have always
found them to be extremely
responsive when dealing with our
requests. The proactive manner in
which they operate and the
recommendations provided have
certainly enhanced our website. The
comprehensive reporting on the
profile of our website has been
invaluable and assures us that the
business is being promoted to a
wider audience." |

|
| Brief |
- To develop a
new financial website aimed
at people with medical
conditions who need life
assurance, home
and travel insurance.
- To encourage
visitors to leave their
details if they are
interested in the
service.
- To make it easy for
visitors to find the
medical questionnaire
that is relevant to
their needs.
|
| Solution |
I created a
new website, paper and online
medical questionnaires.
I split the website and
content into three distinct
audiences - intermediaries,
general public and
charities.
I added a free call back
service 'call me' button so
that visitors can be called
back by the team at a
convenient time.
On the direct service
homepage, the 'Top 10 Pages
Viewed' section quickly
directs visitors to the most
frequently accessed medical
questionnaires.

| "We were seeking a
web consultancy that
understood our
vision and could
enhance our
ideas/suggestions of
a quality based
results driven site
and we believe this
has been achieved.
Julie Roman has provided a
clean, fresh site,
which enhances the
proposition that we
offer to our target
market.
The main
outcomes Julie
helped us to achieve
are the perception
given by the design
and layout of the
site, when compared
to our competitors,
that we offer a
totally 'fresh
approach' to our
target market as can
be seen by the
amount of traffic,
and the responses
generated, to the
site to date.
Julie
listens to what the
client wants to
achieve with the
website, and makes
suggestions to
enhance their
vision, in addition
to the site being
launched within the
stated timeframe."

|
| Brief |
- To makeover an
existing website (view
old website) for an
automotive company.
- To make the site
easier to use.
- To explain how the
service works in Plain
English.
|
| Solution |
The existing
site was hiding useful
information.
I rewrote the copy to make
the site
more search engine and
user-friendly. This
included:
- Adding keyword
rich page titles and
descriptive attention
grabbing headlines.
- Making
the content easier to scan
by highlighting important
words with a bold font.
- Keeping language simple and
avoiding, or explaining,
jargon.
- Using bulleted lists
to make the content more
accessible and also easier
to scan.
- Writing descriptive
links as clear sign posts
for visitors.

| "Julie Roman
offers an
excellent personal approach, to a
very confusing industry. My leads have been
greatly improved by means of a
clearer 3-stepped approach. My
customers can no longer miss vital
information.
I cannot tell you enough how
improved my website now looks. The site
has pictures of staff and the office
building, and it now looks like a
top professional company, you can
trust and do business with.
I will recommend Julie to anyone who needs a
website or sales/marketing advice
for the web!
Thank you for all your
help and I look forward to building
and working with you on my next
project for my business."
